Lightning Rules
We are starting to see a summer pattern of late afternoon and evening thunderstorms developing. To help us keep track of these storms we have a computer set on the local weather radar and we use a Sky Scan Lightning Detector to help determine when lightning is in the area. The devise is used by the NCAA for all their outdoor sports. The device can detect lightning up to 40 miles away. When it is in the 3 to 8 mile range we will interrupt play and ask players and spectators to seek shelter for 30 minutes of the last strike.
Pinellas
County is third in the state in the number of deaths and injuries due to lightning per year. An average of 4 people per year die as a result of a lightning strike in the
Tampa
Bay area and 22 are injured. We are sure that this is one statistic you do not want to be part of.
Dogs at the Facility
Dogs are not allowed at the facility when soccer practice or games are taking place. Your dog may be very friendly and love children. However, not all children or adults love dogs. Each night we receive complaints about dogs at the facility. As with the lightning issue, it only takes one incident to leave us all asking “Why?” Please leave your pet at home.
Parking Lot
Please be sure not to park in the entrance or exit ways of the parking lot. Emergency vehicles must be able to enter our parking lot at all times. Spring Season
The Spring Rec League and the 3v3 League are off to a great start. Please look at the schedule posted on the website. Teams do not always play on Thursdays and Sundays. This may save you a wasted trip.
Coaches please check the Concession Schedule to see when your team is up to work. Two or three volunteers are needed (no children under 18 are allowed in the concessions).
Tops Soccer
Tops Soccer dates are Saturdays, April 5 to May 10 from 5-6 p.m. at

Congratulations
Congratulations go out to the U16 Boys competitive team for winning the Region C Cup.
We would also like to congratulate all the winners and runners-ups from the GYSA Cup. Our club had the most finalists and winners of any.
We would like to congratulate the All Star Rec teams for their performances at the Kohl’s Cup. The U12 Boys were champions, the U10 Girls were finalists and the U10 Boys and U12 Girls finished the tournament with 2 – 1 records.

Recreational All-Stars teams - our U10 Girls teams and the U12 Girls were champions this weekend, April 5-6, at the Suncoast Spring Classic Tournament. Congratulations Girls!!
